Koufar - Lebanese Maronite Christian Nationalist Power Electronics

Visiting his family back in Lebanon in 2006, Waddiah Rabiah Chami was caught in the middle of the Israel - Lebanon war. Those of us who know him were very worried for his safety, as Israel was making civilians targets. Witnessing the devastation that Hezbollah sparked in the land of his family, he developed a deep hatred for them and Syria (who support them), and Islamic extremism. While himself an atheist, he clings tightly to his Maronite Christian roots. To express the way he feels about the situation in Lebanon, he started a power electronics project called Koufar. It stands out from most power electronics acts by being creative and not wallowing in misogyny and/or racism. It is some of the angriest, most intense music you will ever hear and I can't recommend it enough.

So far, Koufar has these releases:

-Enemy/Legacy 3" CDr EP edition of 50 (Universal Tongue) 2009
-Haiawan Full Length CDr edition of 66 (Small Doses) 2009

As well as an appearance on:

-Driven to Kill Vol.1 - All This For Nothing CS (With Intent Records)

Be sure to check out the Koufar official webpage and myspace.
